MOUNT SHASTA, Siskiyou County — Residents interested in drinking-water infrastructure can access published lead-service-line records and water-quality reporting through the city’s Public Works Department.
On its official website, Mount Shasta provides links to a 2024 citywide lead service line inventory and a 2024 consumer confidence report. The dates matter: these are documented historical inventories and annual reports, not fresh laboratory results for every household in November 2026.
What a service-line inventory means
A service-line inventory is intended to identify or classify materials used in water connections. It does not establish the actual concentration of lead in every home’s drinking water. Plumbing inside a building may have different materials from the publicly documented portion of the service line.
Questions to ask the city
Residents can ask which part of a water service connection the city owns, whether a property has an identified or unknown pipe material, and whether more recent inventory revisions or customer notices are available. The city also has published procedures addressing temporary chlorination under a state drinking-water permit amendment.
Anyone concerned about their own tap water should seek guidance on appropriate testing, rather than interpreting another property’s service-line classification as their home’s result. For direct questions, use city department contact information.
